The Office of Innovation and Community Engagement (OICE) supports researchers at Saint Mary’s University by facilitating collaborative research partnerships with the private sector, government departments, non-profits, and community organizations. OICE also helps disseminate research results through commercialization.
As the first point of contact for faculty members and external partners interested in collaboration, OICE helps identify suitable expertise, develop contracts, advise on funding opportunities, and support projects from initial discussions through commercialization.
Faculty members, department chairs, and deans should consult OICE for information on overhead costs and signing formal agreements.
OICE meets regularly with faculty members and students to discuss proposed research projects and potential partners. Through information sharing, training opportunities, and real-world applications of knowledge, OICE helps create mutually beneficial experiences for faculty members, students, and external partners.
